Radical Politics the bussiness of the day in Zimbabwe

Radical politics has  taken a centre stage in Zimbabwe. Its no longer what works or what will bring greater results but its now always about indeginisation and taking control. Not so long ago we were struck by the land reform programme but we are we, how is the economy performing how are citizens living. one thing is for sure all these questions don't have a good answer looking at the state we are in right now.

The Commercial Farmers' Union (CFU) said there had been at least 20 "incidents" on white-owned properties in recent weeks, in most cases with farmers told to leave their farms.
Some had been given as little as one month's "notice".

how is the redistribution of "phase two " of the land reform going to happen, are the public and potential farmers going to be considered. One thing that needs to be asked before such programmes are given an upper hand is, what has the previous one done, evaluation is essential.

workers suffer due to the increase of VAT

Zimbabwe risks losing 100 000 potential jobs in the tourism industry following the introduction of 15 percent value added tax  (Vat) on foreign tourists, the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism (ZCT) has warned.
In such a suffering economy yet the politicians of Zimbabwe who have vast resources are willing to pay of national debts using the money of ordinary citizens. Most of the decisions which are at the expense of citizens are done without any consultation from the citizens themselves

It was not long ago where the new constitution was declared a peoples constitution where as some region of the country don't know the existence of the constitutions or the contents of the new, they don't know what rights are embedded for them in the Constitution.

Who knows the increase of Vat is just strategically positioned and timely with the government's offer to pay off the debt owed by the RBZ and take it as a national debt.

With this act over a thousand people are have their fingers crossed that they manage to earn a living. Francis Ngwenya the Zimbabwe Council for Tourism (ZCT) president said "the imposition of 15 percent levy on non-resident Zimbabweans will slow down our ability to attract high value tourists because we are now an expensive tourism destination”.

Shouldn't all stakeholders involved be consulted before such decisions are carried out.#think on this.

The Harare council says the central business district can only accommodate 6,000 vendors and the rest of the more than 20,000 currently operating in the area will be moved to vendors sites in residential and industrial areas.
Speaking during the sidelines of the launch of the city’s sustainable clean- up campaign by local government minister, Ignatius Chombo, Harare town clerk, Tendai Mahachi, said the 10 designated sites in the city centre cannot accommodate all the vendors in the city.
He said security teams will be deployed and from Thursday as they would be moving vendors from pavements and city moves to restore its sunshine status.
Minister chombo  urged vendors and all those involved in illegal activities in the city to register with the Harare city council so that they can be allocated designated places to operate from.

All has been said but what are these people going to survive on. its not that the system of registration is an "effective" one. Actions should be accompanied by substitutes food for thought.
